To a Dead Hare collects images from trajectories around photography, created by mentormentor over the past few years for S.M.A.K. Moves, a programme centred around inclusivity, with art as a universal language. The title is inspired by Joseph Beuys’ iconic performance How to Explain Pictures to a Dead Hare (1965), a poetic and mysterious exploration of the relationship between art, language, and meaning. Just as Beuys believed that art can be healing and transformative, To a Dead Hare reflects the value of art as a space for self-discovery, communication, and connection.
To a Dead Hare verzamelt beelden uit trajecten rond fotografie die mentormentor de afgelopen jaren binnen S.M.A.K. Beweegt heeft opgezet, een programma rond inclusiviteit, met kunst als universele taal. De titel is geïnspireerd op Joseph Beuys’ befaamde performance How to Explain Pictures to a Dead Hare (1965), waarin hij op poëtische en raadselachtige wijze de relatie tussen kunst, taal en betekenis onderzocht.
